Ta Da!!!!!!

They are done. They are done on time. They will hopefully go out in the mail tomorrow. Good thing too because I now have water being soaked up into the carpet on my basement studio floor. Things need to be moved. Floors need to be dried out. This is going to drive me crazy.

Enough with the bad news and back to the fun stuff. These are the last two blocks for the "In This House and Garden" website swap. We have the travel agency and the Post Office.

The Post Office is my favorite of them all. I am definitely going to make one of these for myself and also for one of our web site members who wasn't able to be in the swap. Surprise!!

Now I only hope that my studio doesn't take too long to dry out and put back together, it's the only thing that keeps me sane some days. It's my sanctuary.

Blocks Two and Three

Block number two is: "Brook's Books". I am really enjoying this swap from the Yahoo Group, In This House and Garden. At first I thought I would never be done in time. I now seem to be on a roll and have only two more to go.

I added a little 3 dimensional book to the back.

The roof, door, and corners are done in embossed metal.

Block number three is: " Polly's Petals", a sweet little flower shop. My work sometimes tends to get a little too cute, which drives me crazy, but I finally accepted the fact that's just how I see things.

I wish I had the time to make two of each so that I could keep one. Oh well, you just have to let go and send your art out into the world. It's good to know that they will go to others who appreciate what you do. Can't wait to see what ends up in my mailbox at the end!

Get back to work!

I've been busy, lazy, crazy. Pick an excuse any excuse at all and I've used it lately. Actually, I do have a good one. The grandchildren have taken up an awful lot of my time and left me with little time for art. They will be away all next week so I'll have no excuse to not get into the studio and catch up with my unfinished projects. I have a fun swap with the YAHOO group, "In This House and Garden". We are creating a Main Street with blocks of wood. Below is the front of block #1.

The back is a mosaic of mirrors which will be cleaned before being mailed off to our fabulous hostess Susie. I think that it still needs a little color with Perfect Pearls.

The sides are adorned with little scrolls .

One down and four to go!!!!

I was even late making a tag for my grandson to send with his Valentine goodie box. It has to go to Hawaii. I don't think it's going to get there in time. Bad Nana, losing points again.

Late chocolate is better than no chocolate at all!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
