The Summer of Color Week 2
This week is all about mint chocolate chip! I first met our lovely hostess Kristin while participating with a group of artists creating artwork from the workshop section of a wonderful new book by Shona Cole "The Artistic Mother." This project was about making name plaques.
It hangs a little wonky but that's o.k Thats what makes it hand
made. Thanks to this prompt I finally got all the grandchildren's photos together.

There's a New Girl in Town!
Back on April 24 we welcomed a new granddaughter to our family. Vanessa became grandchild number 5. My son Ken and his wife Erin now have three children. Big brother Dylan is 13 and big sister Cora is 15 months!
I am such a lucky Nana!

This is the quilt that I made for her. Love the colors.
Of course every new baby needs to have her own new sweater and blanket set to come home in. I love to knit for babies. I love the colors and knitting is perhaps the most relaxing of all my hobbies.

I'm A Winner!!!
A couple of weeks ago I left a comment to a post on one of my favorite blogs, "Confessions of a Denami Stamp Addict". Tina and Wendy were having a give away! We needed to share how we store our rubber stamps.
Like Tina ans Wendy I am also a Denami Stamp addict. I keep all my stamps organized by holidays, words, faces etc, in separate drawers. The Denami stamps are kept together in two drawers because I use them more than the others. It makes it easy to just pull out the drawers when I am building a card.
My name was chosen and I received a $20 gift certificate to the Denami web site. I was thrilled to say the least, my Denami wish list is long. Needless to say I spent more than the $20. After all who can resist free shipping? It's like free stamps!
These are the stamps that I received. Just love those Chickies!
Now that my stash of rubber stamps has grown so large I keep a record of what I have so that I don't buy a stamp that I already own. It's not foolproof but it helps.
So I got right to work and made a birthday card for my friend Nancy with my new Denami stamps, Sizzix embossing folder, spellbinders dye, Rubber Stamp Tapestry Stamps and Spica Glitter pens, all my favorites. Thank you so much Tina and Wendy and Denami.
