And Then There Was Orange !!!!!

Here we are at our last week for "Summer of Color" projects. It was a wonderful process of making art and meeting new artists.

It's been a crazy busy week so I'm sharing a couple of garden photos and an art piece that was done a little while ago.

This was an important project for me. Orange was a color I wasn't comfortable with. I had to pick a crayon out of a bag and create something with whatever color I chose. I just knew that I would end up with orange. By the time it was finished I had gotten over my dislike of working with orange. Please stop by "Twinkle Twinkle" to visit all the wonderful artists from "The Summer of Color".

                              Purple !!!!!!

This week was all about purple. Purple is not a color that I work with much. It took awhile but I muddled through and this is what I ended up with:

There is texture and color all around.

I also managed to hang the nameplates of all the grandchildren. It still needs a little tweaking but at least it is finally off my art table. Now on to orange!!!!!

                                Red !!!!!!!

This week is all about red! Lucky for me I was able to finish this before I left for vacation. I had a wonderful week with all the kiddies, but now it's back to work!

Red  was the perfect color for Colby's nameplate. He is always on the go and full of personality. Now all the grandchildren have nameplates. I know how I want to hang them but I can't find the hardware that I want. It's packed away and I've been going bonkers looking for it. It's perfect so I won't give up until I find it. I have a mission. Thank you "Summer of Color" for giving me a deadline or these would have taken me forever to get to. Be sure to check Kristin's She's our amazing hostess and there are many more fabulous artists's work to see.

Brown

The "Summer of Color" is all about brown this week. I am on vacation in Virginia this week to visit my son and his family. We've also brought along the grandchildren from Mass. so we will have all the kids together.

This week I haven't been able to check out individual blogs but I have been keeping up on Facebook. All the artwork looks amazing. I am going to share a couple of photos for brown week.

These tootsies belong to all four grandchildren. I love little tootsies.

This photo is of my Oldest grandson Dylan and his new little sister Cora. Be sure to check out our lovely hostess Kristin to see more amazing art work.

"Mellow Yellow"

I was feeling a little naughty this week. I have been dying to use my flying pig and my favorite quote. For some reason those little pigs just get to me. I have a little collection of them around the house. Someday I'll share photos of them, but today it's about art. Be sure to stop by the blog of our hostess Kristin to check out more yellow masterpieces.

Hope you had a great 4th of July!!!!

It's All About Green!

Welcome to week two of our "Summer of Color". This week is all about green. Green is my favorite color. Check with our hostess "Twinkle Twinkle" to see all the green artwork from the talented artists participating.

This is my piece for green. The idea comes from Shona Cole's book "The Artistic Mother". I had done one earlier for my grandson Dylan. The Summer of Color is giving me the push to do one for each grandchild.

This is a work in progress. I started with a black and white photo taken with a Lomo Camera. I have already started coloring it with oils, oil pencils, oil pastels, and crayons. It still needs detail work but I'm not sure what to use.  It's coming along but so far so good.
Next week on to PINK.
